Our team in Sandbach is seeking a skilled Chemical Operator to join our 24-hour, 7-day a week operation at our primary bulk inorganics chemical terminal.
The Sandbach terminal is a critical hub for Brenntag UK, handling caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, ferric chloride, and poly-aluminium chloride. As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Weighing in and out of vehicles, printing loading notes, and assisting drivers with paperwork and product sampling.
- Operating the plant in accordance with site procedures, ensuring safe and efficient operations without compromising the environment.
- Operating the bespoke computer loading/blending equipment, loading and offloading bulk road tankers safely and in adherence to site instructions and policy.
- Sampling and testing chemicals, completing certificates of product conformity, and maintaining accurate records.
- Performing system checks, plant logs, and reporting any plant issues in a timely manner.
- Preparing and isolating plant equipment for maintenance, including completing and issuing permits to work.
- Undertaking basic cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and painting.
- Weighing out loaded or empty tankers and completing legal paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensuring tankers presenting to load or discharge have the correct consignment number, tanker type, and driver completes the appropriate paperwork.
As a Chemical Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our terminal and contributing to the success of Brenntag UK.
