Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
About the Position
The Chief Administrative Officer will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Share Food Program, ensuring efficient management of finances, facilities, human resources, technology, and processes.
This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to guide, oversee, and evaluate staff performance. The ideal candidate will provide a working environment that empowers staff to excel in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of staff members who manage operations, including finance, facilities, and human resources.
- Knowledge of the mission, goals, and constituencies of Share Food Program.
- Familiarity with funding sources for multiple programs.
- Timely assessments of operations to ensure currency with modern applications.
- Regular communication with the Executive Director on the status of operations.
- Recommendations for changes to improve operations.
- Providing staff with necessary support to perform their functions optimally.
- Creating a collaborative environment among operations staff.
- Communicating with staff on issues affecting their operations.
- Staff performance analysis according to Share Human Relations policies.
- Reviews of the organization chart and personnel descriptions.
- Recommendations for external expertise consultations.
- Preparation of reports on operations for the Board as requested.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technological knowledge required for COO functions.
- Health status requirements for all COO functions.
- Licenses required for all functions.
- Adaptability to flexible working hours.
- A demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the organization.
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in related areas, such as business administration, law, or management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Management, or related areas.
- Experience managing large staffs in multifunctional organizations.
- Expertise in promoting teamwork and preventing silo units.
- Significant interactions with vendors of supplies and equipment.
- Financial acuity to ensure financial controls related to operations.
- Familiarity with operational procedures to communicate effectively with staff.
- Decision-making based on policy compliance, data, and critical analysis.
- Ability to respond to irregular working hours.
- A valid driver's license and current insurance coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Law, Management, or related areas.
- Role of COO for 3 or more years in a multifaceted organization.
- Experience in organizations related to the functions of Share Food Program.
- Familiarity with the communities served by Share Food Program.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations.
