Director of Commercial Contracts

At Taylor Root, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Commercial Contracts to join our in-house legal team in London. This is a newly created position that will play a strategic role in managing our commercial legal affairs and leading a team of commercial lawyers across various service lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Partners to influence our commercial strategy and approach to contracting on both the client and supplier side.
  • Manage a team of commercial lawyers to provide substantive legal advisory work and support the development of our commercial contracts.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the business.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate commercial risks.

Requirements:

  • Over 15 years' PQE with proven experience as a commercial lawyer in a top-tier City law firm or in-house.
  • Good knowledge of IP law and experience managing and/or leading a team of commercial lawyers.
  • Strong business acumen, gravitas, and ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
