South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing high-quality midwifery care to women, babies, and families. We are seeking a skilled Midwife to join our team as an Apprentice Midwife.

Job Overview:

This rotational post offers a unique opportunity to develop and broaden your experience and skills within maternity services. As an Apprentice Midwife, you will work across both community and hospital settings, providing personalized care to women throughout their pregnancy and childbirth pathway.

Responsibilities:
  • To be responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate midwifery care for women, babies, and families designated to their care.
  • To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code.
  • To support the shift leader or team leader to ensure organizational goals/objectives are met.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Midwifery studies or evidence of currently working towards this (UK equivalent).
  • Current NMC Registration (Midwife).
  • Mentorship certificate/Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Management and leadership training.
  • Experience as a Band 5.

An estimated salary for this role is around £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
