About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family & Volunteer Support Worker to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Family & Volunteer Support Service, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of patients and their families by providing a high-quality support service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the centralised social visitor booking services, ensuring seamless coordination of onsite and virtual visits, overnight accommodation, and social visitor event days.
  • Take on In-Charge responsibilities for social visitors and child onsite visits, providing a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Social Visitors overnight accommodation and the Child Visiting Suite, adhering to procedures and risk assessments.
  • Utilize competent administrative skills, including database management, to support the efficient delivery of services.
  • Assist in the organisation of Social Visitor information, events, and training days, promoting a culture of inclusivity and support.
  • Support Ward Carer Links as part of the Triangle of Care initiative, fostering strong relationships between patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of volunteer visitors, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality support.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • IT-related qualifications and experience with databases and data inputting.
  • Higher or A-level English and a health or social care qualification.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults or children, preferably in a mental health setting.
  • Strong administrative skills, including Microsoft package proficiency.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new situations, with a focus on delivering high-quality support services.
