Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Heritage Building Surveyor to join our team in Oxford. As a Heritage Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting site surveys to assess building defects and recommending remedial works. You will also prepare illustrated reports, specifications for repairs, and provide advice to clients on building material condition and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys to assess building defects and recommend remedial works
  • Prepare illustrated reports with background research
  • Prepare specifications for repairs
  • Contract administration
  • Provide advice to clients on building material condition and performance
  • Attend meetings with clients and their consultants
  • Undertake personal training and development
  • Financial accountability through effective management of time and resources
  • Prepare fee proposals and contribute to bids
  • Attend external training courses to expand knowledge and skills

Requirements:

  • MRICS, MCIOB, or IHBC qualification
  • 3+ years of experience in building surveying post-graduation
  • Heritage/conservation project experience
  • Contract administration experience
  • Direct experience of complex repair and refurbishment projects
  • In-depth knowledge of building decay processes and repair techniques
  • Ability to travel across the South of England and occasionally Wales
  • UK Driving Licence
