Electronics Systems Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Systems Engineer to join our client in Denbighshire, Wales, as part of their Optical Systems Innovation Hub in St Asaph, North Wales.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of development engineers on new cutting-edge products for applications in laser directed energy weapons, multi-band sighting systems for increased situational awareness, and next-generation advanced imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of electronic solutions for a range of electro-optical products using FPGA, digital, and analogue electronic hardware and software.
  • Provide electronic systems engineering inputs from concept to manufacture and test.
  • Assist with requirements capture and specification definition, sensitivity analysis, and reliability analysis as required.
  • Interfacing with and managing output from sub-contractors.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and perform electronic design, analysis, and test.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to a high standard for all phases of the project.
  • Support handover from design to production.
  • Work with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics engineering, 2:1 or better.
  • At least 4+ years' experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in digital and analogue signal processing, and video processing.
  • Analogue electronics design experience.
  • Schematic capture and layout.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation that supports the product development process, including product specifications, manuals, and end-user instructions.
  • Ability to create and give presentations to customers and partners.
