Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our School Age Team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to children and young people with Education Health and Care plans in Enfield mainstream primary and secondary schools and specialist provisions.

About the Role

The post holder will have a mixed caseload, supported and guided by senior staff. They will work with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, attending Enfield mainstream primary and secondary schools and in specialist provisions. The successful candidate will also participate in CPD activities, contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit and projects, and deliver training to other professionals and parents/carers on all aspects of speech, language and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to children and young people with Education Health and Care plans in Enfield mainstream primary and secondary schools and specialist provisions.
  • Work with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, including those with dysfluency and speech sound disorders.
  • Participate in CPD activities, contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit and projects, and deliver training to other professionals and parents/carers on all aspects of speech, language and communication.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for children and young people, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, teaching assistants, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist who possesses the following qualities:

  • Recognised speech and language therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council for Licence to Practice.
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
  • Confident and experienced in delivering training and education to other professionals and parents/carers.
  • Ability to work effectively with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit and projects.
