We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Consultant to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the increasing ambulatory and inpatient capacity of the respiratory service, further developing the service and its research profile, and providing linked outreach clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in weekly hospital-based MDT asthma and respiratory clinics, working closely with respiratory nurse specialists, physiologists, physiotherapists, and psychology.
- Contribute to the leadership of the monthly MDT difficult asthma clinic for children and young people (CYP) who require additional support.
- Share ward attending duties for children admitted to hospital with respiratory conditions, working on a 1:4 basis with other respiratory consultants.
- Be available for telephone advice service out of hours, providing category B on-call support.
- Perform elective flexible bronchoscopy under general anaesthesia, as well as pH studies and other procedures as required.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve asthma care and drive up standards of respiratory medicine.
- MRCP or MRCPCH qualification.
- CCT in Respiratory Paediatrics (or within 3 months of CCT) or equivalent overseas qualification (suitable for CESR).
- Full registration with the GMC.
