Executive Director Opportunity at Universities Superannuation Scheme

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and ensuring the effective governance and oversight of our complex business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Engagement and Industrial Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including scheme members, employers, and industry partners. Provide expert advice on industrial relations and collective bargaining arrangements.
- Pension Industry Experience: Bring expertise in pension trustee roles, DB/DC pension fund management, or company/university committee experience to inform our governance and decision-making processes.
- Pensions Administration Oversight and Scheme Member Engagement: Lead on education and communication strategies for DB and DC services, and work with outsourced providers to ensure effective scheme member and employer engagement.
- Corporate Governance Expertise/Board Management Knowledge: Provide guidance on corporate governance best practice and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Pension Regulator's codes of practice and guidance.
- At least 35 days per annum commitment to the role.
- Four-year term of office, with the possibility of extension by one year (max. five-year term).
- Opportunity to apply for reappointment after the initial term, with a maximum tenure of nine years.
