Software Engineer - Data Governance and Security

At Trustpilot, we're committed to building a culture of data ownership and responsibility. As a Software Engineer in our Data Governance & Privacy team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the security and compliance of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines to support data cataloguing and labelling efforts.
  • Apply software engineering principles to build reliable systems that meet data governance needs and uphold data quality.
  • Collaborate with the team to automate data processes, including tagging, classification, and retention policies.
  • Work closely with Legal, Security, and Product teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, enhancing data management efficiency while reducing costs.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development to stay up-to-date on data governance trends and tools.

Requirements:

  • A solid background in software engineering, with proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages, and experience building scalable, reliable systems.
  • Prior experience in data governance is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with data processing tools.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • A proactive mindset, with a desire to learn and grow in data governance and privacy practices.
