Job Description

The System Integration Manager role at SSE Enterprise is a key position within our Transmission System team. As a Power System Analysis Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of power system analysis specialists in providing detailed study support for major projects connecting to the transmission system in the north of Scotland.

The ideal candidate will have experience in power system analysis, design, and planning, with a working knowledge of industry and technical standards. A good understanding of power system modeling and analysis, with experience in at least three of the following areas: load flow and short circuit calculations, dynamic (RMS) simulation, power quality and system monitoring, EMT simulation for transients, EMT simulation for control interaction studies, and automation scripting.

The successful candidate will also have experience in managing complex technical study work and line management. Excellent knowledge of the electricity industry, including interfaces with the regulator, the Electricity System Operator, other Transmission Owners, and Distribution Network Operators is essential.

A degree in electrical engineering or a related numerical discipline is required, and ideally, the candidate should be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution. The ability to write clear and well-structured technical reports and specifications and provide focused information for senior management is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of power system analysis specialists in providing detailed study support for major projects.
  • Manage complex technical study work and line management.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes for study work.
  • Liaise with project teams, operational colleagues, and equipment suppliers.
  • Represent SSE Enterprise in external meetings and on industry workgroups.
