About the Role

We are seeking a skilled maintenance engineer with a mechanical bias to join our team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all mechanical tasks and providing support for electrical issues when required, ensuring all plant machinery meet regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reactive breakdown resolution including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance.
  • Planned maintenance to follow schedule for conveyors, ECS', Balers, compactors, shredders, gearboxes, motors etc.
  • Involvement in planned yearly shutdowns.
  • Travelling to other sites in the area when required.
  • Mentoring and supporting apprentices during their development.

Requirements

  • NVQ level 3 in engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • 18th edition qualification- or willingness to complete within 3 months of starting.
  • Previous experience with mechanical maintenance for industrial machinery including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, mobile plant equipment etc.
  • Welding/Fabrication experience.
