Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Early Years Oral Health Team as an Early Years Oral Health Improvement Worker. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the oral health of children across the Thurrock area and influence work across the wider Mid and South Essex areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational oral health workshops directly to parents, carers, and children, as well as supporting the Train the Trainer programme to upskill professionals from a variety of organisations to deliver oral health messaging and advice to children and families.
  • Maintain records of resources distributed and required by other members of the oral health team and system partners, and ensure robust ordering and distribution processes and procedures are in place.
  • Collect data and assist in the production of reports to provide evidence of the effectiveness of the programme.
  • Work closely with partners in the Family Hubs, Schools, VCFSE organisations and other agencies to identify opportunities to implement oral health prevention strategies into current children & young people workstreams.
  • Support the Programme Co-ordinator to develop and deliver Community Engagement and Co-Production Events.

Person Specification
  • Personal qualities of honesty and integrity
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Full UK Driving license and access to own vehicle to use for work purposes
  • Diploma level qualification or equivalent level of experience in relevant role
  • Additional training or experience to support the requirements of the role
  • Experience of working in a service focused environment
  • Experience of public speaking and delivering messages to a group setting
  • Experience of providing administrative and project support and developing and implementing administrative systems
  • Knowledge of administrative systems and procedures
  • Understanding of the current issues impacting on the NHS
  • Good communications skills using a range of methods written and verbal
  • Advanced IT skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Able to analyse data from databases to present summary results and/or draw conclusions
