A highly regarded claims consultancy in Sheffield is seeking a seasoned Delay Consultant to join their team.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in dispute resolution services, preferably as a Delay Analyst with a reputable consultancy.

Alternatively, a construction professional from a contracting background with exposure to claims and disputes work may also be suitable for this role, especially if they are eager to develop their skills in the claims sector.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Delay Consultant, you will report directly to the Managing Director and provide support on complex disputes, while also leading your own client assignments related to claims on live projects.

You will be expected to deliver the following services:

  • Collaborate with Delay Analysts to address disputed and time-related issues.
  • Offer expert counsel to clients to help them avoid conflicts.
  • Provide support to clients on matters related to delay and loss.
  • Work with commercial experts to address disputed and non-controversial time-related issues.
  • Deliver timely coaching and training to numerous clients on delay-related topics.
  • Conduct report writing and represent clients in tribunals.
  • Support solicitors in construction-related disputes.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need approximately 10 years of postgraduate experience in the construction industry.

Your prior experience should include working in live planning and programming roles for contracting organizations or delay analysis work at a disputes consultancy.

You should be familiar with programs and programming software, including P6, Asta Powerproject, and MS Project.

In addition, you should have some formal involvement in managing or supporting a dispute (adjudication, arbitration, litigation, etc.).

Good experience/knowledge of standard forms of contract such as NEC and JCT is essential.
