We are seeking a seasoned Category Strategist to drive business growth and profitability in our gardening sector.

The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in category management, with a strong commercial mindset and ability to analyze product and pricing metrics.

A competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum is offered, depending on experience.

About the Role:

  • Develop and execute category strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  • Manage daily category responsibilities, including product cycle management and supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Marketing Directors to align on category goals.
  • Explore new product opportunities to enhance the current portfolio and stay ahead of competitors.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Product Cycle Management: Oversee the entire product cycle, from development to launch.
  2. New Product Development: Identify and develop new product opportunities that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
  3. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  4. Shipping Process: Own the shipping process to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the Business Manager to align on category strategies and goals.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Increase Sales and Profitability: Drive sustainable growth by increasing sales and profitability of the business.
  • Market Innovation: Explore new category introductions to enhance the current portfolio and stay ahead of competitors.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of category management experience in similar markets or categories.
  • Commercial Mindset: Possess a commercial mindset with full understanding of marketing and sales principles.
  • Data Analysis: Provide accurate and coherent analysis on product and pricing metrics.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and people skills, analytical mind, and strategic ability.
