About Us: Connect Consultants is a leading consulting firm specializing in transportation infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to support the management and delivery of highway schemes, including town and city regeneration, retail parks, supermarkets, residential schemes, and urban extensions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in design, management, and delivery of Section 278 and 38 highway schemes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with external suppliers, the consultancy team, and the approving authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage highway schemes, including town and city regeneration, retail parks, supermarkets, residential schemes, and urban extensions.
  • Develop and implement sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) with good knowledge of relevant current standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and interested parties to design and detail infrastructure works.
  • Supervise and monitor construction works, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Manage the agreement process for S278 and S38 highway schemes.
  • Represent the employer on a client-facing basis, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, the consultancy team, and the approving authority.

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering degree or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Infrastructure Design role.
  • Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and design of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
  • Strong working knowledge of Section 104 and 106 for drainage.
  • Ability to represent the employer on a client-facing basis.
  • Proficient in design software, including AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS, PDS Line, and PDS Sign.
  • Desired experience in Microdrainage and Lighting Reality.
  • Must have a driving license and own car.
