About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Pensions Lawyer to join our team at M&G plc, a leading international savings and investments business with a rich history spanning over 170 years. Our company offers a range of financial products and services through Asset Management, Life and Wealth.

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering attractive financial outcomes for our clients and driving superior shareholder returns. Your expertise will be instrumental in advising on bulk annuity transactions and the de-risking of defined benefit pension schemes.

We are looking for a Pensions de-risking lawyer with 4+ years PQE who has worked in the pensions team of a law firm and/or in-house team of an insurer/other market player in the de-risking space. Your strong academic credentials and proven capability in managing external counsel will be essential in building and developing relationships with key internal stakeholders.

As a business partner to our relevant business teams, you will be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and fluid deadlines. Your ability to act as a business partner and provide expert advice will be critical in driving our business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on bulk annuity transactions and the de-risking of defined benefit pension schemes
  • Managing external counsel and building relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Acting as a business partner to our relevant business teams
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on pensions de-risking matters

Requirements:

  • 4+ years PQE in pensions law
  • Experience working in the pensions team of a law firm and/or in-house team of an insurer/other market player in the de-risking space
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Proven capability in managing external counsel and building relationships with key internal stakeholders
