Firmware Engineer Opportunities

About the Role

The Raytheon Technologies team is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join a successful Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area. In this role, you will be responsible for creating Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop firmware requirements to ensure compliance to relevant standards.
  2. Design and manage firmware architectures, mainly focusing on FPGAs.
  3. Understand, decompose, and verify firmware requirements.
  4. Perform unit-level and subsystem-level testing for embedded firmware.
  5. Collaborate with embedded system, software, and electronic design engineers.
  6. Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.
Key Requirements
Essential:
  1. Proven experience in creating firmware architectures.
  2. Experience in testing and verifying requirements.
  3. Knowledge of FPGAs and SoC technologies.
  4. Ability to program in VHDL.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  7. Openness to learning and trying new techniques.
  8. Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  9. Capability of analyzing and reporting on technical data.
  10. Eligibility for or current SC security clearance.
Desirable:
  1. Experience using Vivado and Vitis design tools or equivalent.
  2. Experience working with the Xilinx chip family.
  3. Experience delivering embedded firmware as part of a product.
  4. Experience creating embedded system architectures.
  5. Familiarity with systems engineering approaches.
  6. Knowledge of defence engineering and airborne standards.
  7. Experience with Model Based System Engineering tools.
