Safety Assurance Expert for Railway Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Assurance Engineer to join our team at Matchtech in Toronto.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a System Safety Assurance Engineer, you will be accountable for leading safety assurance for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant international safety and technical standards. This includes:
- Ensuring projects adhere to standards such as EN50126, EN50129, or IEC 61508, CSM-RA, CMREA.
- Reporting on progress and managing staff competence and development.
- Coordinating safety studies throughout the project life cycle to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Managing activities related to safety assurance, including Hazard Log management and review of RAM, V&V, T&C activities from a safety perspective.
- Preparing technical reports for submission to management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in safety assurance for large-scale railway projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety designations and technical proficiency in dealing with safety-related aspects of complex railway projects.
- Expertise in applying safety standards and creating hazard logs, FMECA, FTA, IHA, OSHA, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
