About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner to join our dynamic Main Theatres and Day Surgery department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care under supervision, including implementing basic and complex healthcare practices.
- Effectively communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues, and report incidents and contribute to team discussions.
- Utilise resources effectively, delegate tasks to junior staff, support peers through preceptorship, and participate in policy development and quality audits.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care, keep patients informed, identify risks, and update clinical skills for ongoing professional development.
Theatre Facilities
- 12 Theatres: 8 in the main theatre, 4 in Day Surgery Unit (DSU), plus support for 2 maternity theatres and IVF.
- Diverse Specialties: Experience a wide range of procedures including Urology, General Surgery, Upper GI, Breast, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Oral, Plastic, Ophthalmology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, CEPOD, and Bariatric surgeries.
Requirements
- Registered ODP (operating Department practitioner) with the HCPC or RN holding a recognised ANAESTHETIC qualification.
- Up to date clinical knowledge and experience in an acute setting.
- Reflective practice and possession of a current Professional Portfolio.
