We are seeking a skilled and adaptable individual to join our team at GRS Group as a Transport Co-ordinator. This role requires a proactive and results-driven approach to ensure the efficient organization and distribution of materials.

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the day-to-day organization of the acceptance and subsequent distribution of materials, by the acceptance of orders on a day-to-day basis and to ensure that the customers' needs are fulfilled.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing the customers' needs and preferences.
  • Coordinating the timing of delivery and ensuring timely completion.
  • Liaising with customers and sources to adjust delivery programs as needed.
  • Regular contact with customers to advise of potential problems or delays.
  • Problem resolving, both with regard to haulage and source of material on a day to day basis.
  • Maintaining a site contract name and telephone number.
  • Following up with sites to secure next day's requirements.
  • Establishing a preferential haulage list based on individual performance.
  • Liaising with management on source/haulage/site problems.
  • To identify opportunities to increase profitability and efficiency and report these to your line manager/sales person.
  • Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.
