HGV Trailer Technician Role

Our client, a leading fleet maintenance company with over 20 depots across the UK, is seeking skilled HGV Trailer Technicians to join their growing team.

As a renowned fleet maintenance provider, our client offers a comprehensive range of services, including routine maintenance, repairs, and modification work on HGV trailers. With a strong focus on technical excellence and customer satisfaction, they have established themselves as a trusted partner in the industry.

Salary Information

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of £41,000 (OTE), reflecting the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. This competitive remuneration package includes a basic salary of £36,000, complemented by overtime payments at 1.5 times the hourly rate.

Job Description

As an HGV Trailer Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying HGV trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety standards
  • Providing technical support from fault analysis through to completion, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of issues
  • Conducting pre-MOT checks and undertaking any necessary repairs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Performing quality control tests and presenting trailers for MOTs
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need to possess:

  • An in-depth knowledge of commercial vehicles and HGV trailers, gained through experience and/or formal training
  • A valid HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential)
  • Fully qualified status as an HGV Trailer Technician, with City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Desirable skills in double deck maintenance and welding
