About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Panel Beater or MET Technician to join our team at Steer Automotive Group in Hexham. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers' vehicles are repaired to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Restore damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition by repairing and replacing body components and conducting mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs.
  • Utilize specialist equipment to assess damage, diagnose issues, and determine the best methods for repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Work closely with a dynamic team to ensure all work is completed efficiently, within agreed timescales, and complies with manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and adhere to health and safety guidelines while keeping a clean and organised workspace.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater or MET Technician from an accident repair background.
  • Strong knowledge of panel beating techniques and mechanical, electrical, and trim repair practices.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • The ability to assess and repair damage efficiently, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Ideally, ATA/NVQ qualified, with support provided for renewing qualifications.
