About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Import Account Manager to join our Retail team based in Manchester. As an Ocean Import Account Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to nominated clients and managing the import process for sea freight shipments from origin to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide an exceptional level of service to all customers.
  • Manage and oversee the import process for sea freight shipments from origin to delivery.
  • Quote clients and negotiate rates with suppliers to optimize cost-effectiveness for clients.
  • Monitor shipments and update clients.
  • Prepare customs documents for the customs department.
  • Liaise with suppliers and hauliers ensuring smooth delivery and monitor shipments to update clients regarding any delay.
  • Invoice and cost files to ensure correct profit margin.
  • Visit clients with the sales team and help build strong relationships.
Requirements
  • End-to-end Ocean Freight Operations knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of the International freight forwarding industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and your wider team.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Develop trust and respect from colleagues and clients.
  • Identify problems early and respond in a timely fashion.
  • Proactive and professional persona.
