Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the workforce systems optimization team, ensuring accurate employee data management and streamlined operations within the NHS.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership & Culture: Lead a high-performing People and Culture admin team by providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on improving team engagement and productivity.
  2. Workforce System Optimisation: Maintain and enhance the workforce system for efficient data management, reducing system errors, and ensuring smooth operations that contribute to NHS's commitment to high-quality patient care.
  3. Payroll/Pension Knowledge: Provide support within the existing payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll/pension processing that complies with all relevant regulations and meets employee expectations.
  4. Administration: Effective coordination of all P&C administration and processes e.g. contracts, compliance, and inductions, while ensuring that workflows are managed across all P&C functions aligned to NHS annual plan.
  5. Case Management: Serve as a first point of contact and ensure that employee relations issues are categorized and channeled to the appropriate channel.
  6. Compliance & Reporting: Generate and analyse key workforce and payroll reports to ensure compliance with legislation and support informed decision-making.
Requirements:
  • A proven experience in HR and payroll management, with a focus on workforce management and team leadership.
  • Expertise in UK employment law and payroll.
  • Strong ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team.
  • High attention to detail, especially in payroll and compliance-related tasks, with the ability to handle sensitive information.

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional development.
