We are seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Mental Health Specialist Psychologist to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment services to adults with severe Fear of Birth (tokophobia) and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) related to their birth experience.

This is a full-time role that offers generous time for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), allowing you to expand your expertise in trauma-focused therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and treatment services to patients with complex mental health needs
  • Develop and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients, including those who have experienced traumatic births
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement in perinatal mental health services
Requirements
  • Doctorate-level qualification in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working with clients with trauma-related mental health issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
