Role Overview

The Management Accountant is a key member of the Pembroke College finance team, playing a central role in the production of statutory and management accounting information. This position combines core accounting functions, operational tasks, and management accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Budget and Management Accounts: Prepare the annual budget, update forecasts, and provide timely financial data to the Governing Body, senior management, and budget holders.
  2. Statutory Accounts and Reporting: Prepare draft Annual Financial Statements, schedules, and notes, and serve as the first point of contact for audit queries.
  3. Commercial Properties and Other Initiatives: Manage the finances for commercial properties, confirm contractual relations, and handle renewals and other queries.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least three years of relevant experience in the education/charity sector.
  • Highly competent user of Excel and good knowledge of other Microsoft Office packages.
  • Familiarity with working with an accounting system and other database packages.
