About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Category Officer to join our Commercial and Procurement Team at Kent Fire and Rescue Service. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional procurement support to internal clients, ensuring the effective management of contracts and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure and mobilize new contracts for FM services across the KFRS estate, adhering to Public Contract Regulation 2015 and KFRS's own policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ongoing contract management of new and existing contracts, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Lead and provide support in developing and promoting an innovative approach to procurement and market analysis, driving continuous improvement through effective contract management.
  • Provide data and supplier analysis to support new methods of service delivery, achieving best value in procurement.
  • Support the Category Manager in designing and delivering local strategies to maximize collaboration opportunities across the Blue Light sector.
Requirements
  • Experience of Public Sector procurement, the Public Contract Regulations 2015, and awareness of the new Public Procurement Act 2023.
  • Awareness of the government's Find a Tender Service (FTS).
  • Procurement experience within the area of Property and Facilities Management.
  • Willingness to study for and become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or be working towards full CIPS membership.
