Regulatory Reporting and Compliance Expert Role

GIC Private Limited is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Reporting and Compliance Expert to enhance its Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance (RRIC) capabilities in its London office. The RRIC team specializes in researching, managing, and implementing responses to all regulatory provisions that affect the firm's investments with internal and external stakeholders and partners. The team also monitors listed investments across public and private markets to ensure compliance with various restrictions and limits arising from regulations, client guidelines, or internal risk frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a team responsible for GIC's EMEA post-trade obligations, keeping up-to-date with EMEA regulatory reporting requirements and developments, including timely responses to obligations.
  • Support pre-trade activities during the EMEA time zone, coordinating well with the RRIC teams in Singapore and New York to ensure seamless coverage for the investment teams.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders based in London, understanding, anticipating, and responding to their business needs effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal and external advisors in EMEA to assess global regulations with good understanding and application to GIC's investments.
  • Research, manage, and implement controls to monitor regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring that regulatory obligations and provisions affecting the EMEA region are addressed. This includes communicating implications to internal investment stakeholders and developing potential regulatory responses in partnership with Compliance Advisory teams.
  • Lead engagement with business and provide compliance guidance and expertise, e.g., reviewing proposed transactions, new products, considering internal and regulatory requirements across asset classes.
  • Develop policies and procedures, including coding and reviewing pre- and post-trade rules and controls in compliance/execution platforms, to ensure appropriateness and adequacy against industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead change management activities to ensure compliance with new regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks, including the implementation of regulatory and internal trade controls.
  • Proactively share knowledge with team members on regulatory developments and industry best practices.
  • Develop positive teamwork with the wider RRIC team and drive engagement with stakeholders.
  • Establish good local networks of peers for strategic partnerships.
  • Drive and support department/team initiatives (where applicable).
