Our team is responsible for handling all employment-related litigation, including class actions and regulatory matters. We work closely with the Human Capital Management (HCM) Division to provide strategic input on employee relations matters and support the firm's risk, benefits, and mobility programs.

Your Role

  • Provide employment law advice and support to clients, including drafting and reviewing employment documentation such as offer letters, severance letters, and workplace rules and policies.
  • Manage external counsel and coordinate with internal teams, including employee relations and compliance, to handle employment-related disputes.
  • Review and monitor employment law developments in areas of coverage and address potential impact on the firm's HCM strategy.
  • Coordinate with other relevant groups throughout the firm, including Legal, Compliance, Tax, and Compensation, to ensure that Goldman Sachs standards are incorporated into the handling of all personnel matters.
  • Uphold the firm's principles, business controls, ethics, policies, and procedures, and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable employment law advisory and litigation experience gained in private practice, and/or in-house.
  • PQE 5+ preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, drafting, and communication skills, with a commitment to excellence and ability to draft communications easily understandable to clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business groups within the firm.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to respond calmly, creatively, and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to assess risks, with the ability to take firm positions to protect the firm's interests.
