About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as an Apprentice Transmission Engineer. As part of this role, you will work closely with the National Grid Principal Designer Representative and provide comprehensive engineering support in your area of expertise.

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth progression of projects from design to commercial service. You will also offer valuable design, obsolescence, and commissioning advice when required.

To succeed in this role, you must enjoy problem-solving and using your practical, engineering mindset to improve things. You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work well in a team environment.

Requirements
  • TWO A-Levels, with a grade of C or above in Maths or Physics, or an equivalent Level 3 qualification with a pass, which includes a Maths or Engineering module.
  • FIVE GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, including passes in Maths and English Language (grades 4/C or above) OR a Level 2 Pass in Functional Skills.
  • A driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK by the end of your first year.
