About the RoleAs a General Practitioner in our Prison Healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to a diverse group of patients. You will work closely with a fully staffed specialist mental health and inpatient team, as well as two Advanced Nurse Practitioners. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in end-to-end care, particularly in supporting patients with mental health and substance misuse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver first-class healthcare to patients, developing your knowledge in areas you may not typically experience in a practice or A&E environment.
- Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis, making timely decisions regarding patient management.
- Offer specialist support to other healthcare team members and patients, with active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- MBChB or MBBS qualification and inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
