Job Summary

GE Aviation's Power Conversion business is seeking a skilled Apprentice Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our site teams, you will provide electrical and mechanical technician support to our repair centers and have the opportunity to travel worldwide as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow defined procedures to build, refurbish, or repair power conversion equipment sub-assemblies.
  • Inspect GE supplied equipment before delivery, in storage, and after installation, and carry out planned maintenance before, during, and after commissioning.
  • Visit customer vessels to carry out planned maintenance and assist Field Engineers with breakdowns.
  • Perform panel wiring modifications and remedial work, upgrade installation on GE supplied equipment.
  • Comply with company and customer EHS policies and procedures.
  • Assist GE commissioning engineers and assist with stores control and movement of material on/off site.
Requirements:
  • Electrical technicians certificate, mechanical technicians certificate, or equivalent from a reputable College.
  • Practical engineering background.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Ability to use basic computer software.
  • Recognized health and safety training.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Flexibility around working patterns in accordance with business needs.

Additional Information:

Requirements for this Role:
  • Must be a British national due to the sensitive nature of the work.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain MoD Security Clearance.
  • Must meet required medical standard for offshore work and sea survival.
  • Must be comfortable working at site and at sea during ship servicing and repair at short notice.
