Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at Brenntag. The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging and managing transportation services with third-party providers, providing support for commercial activities, and promoting targets on safety, performance, and cost.

• Arrange and manage transportation services with third-party providers to meet customer requirements, performance, and cost targets.
• Capture, assess, and track extra or non-standard costs, including cost recovery.
• Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with transport companies, ensuring new ones comply with our approval process.
• Communicate with hauliers and freight forwarders to arrange quotations and transportation rates.
• Investigate and report on transport-related incidents, customer complaints, and supplier non-conformance.
• Monitor and maintain records of haulier performance against expected service levels, identify non-conformance, and assess corrective actions.
• Conduct competitive comparisons of approved supplier rates and performance data, as required by existing or potential commercial activities.
• Track, record, and provide KPI reports to the supply chain management team, proposing and implementing changes to achieve performance targets.

• GCSE qualifications or equivalent.
• Experience in bulk and packed goods transport planning, vehicle logistics, freight operations, and supply chain principles.
• High level of organisational skills, flexibility, and ability to prioritise.
• High level of communication skills, including verbal and written communication, presentation, and meeting participation.
• Good document and data management skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
• IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work well in a team and manage workload, responding to strict deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.

• Experience in planning and managing the movement of hazardous chemicals, including use of SDS for bulk and packaged goods.
• Experience in arranging export consignments, sea and air, understanding of incoterms.
• Experience of delivering from quayside onto vessel.
• Working knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
