About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Handyman Assistant with Barnardo's, providing vital support to our teams and services. As a Handyman Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing properties, ensuring they are safe and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of properties, including painting, decorating, and minor building repairs
  • Undertaking risk assessments and completing necessary paperwork
  • Assembling flat pack furniture and undertaking general household DIY tasks
  • Providing support with gardening and outdoor maintenance
  • Changing lock barrels and putting up curtain poles, shelving, and blinds
  • Repairs of furniture and equipment
  • Jet washing and minibus checks
  • Removal of waste and items

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits, including paid mileage and access to training and development opportunities.

What You Need:

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of DIY skills, including painting, decorating, and minor building repairs. You will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
