About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join our team in Chelmsford. As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the science department by preparing materials, setting up experiments, and ensuring the smooth running of laboratory sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting up equipment and materials for practical science lessons and experiments.
  • Assisting teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in working order.
  • Managing stock levels of chemicals, supplies, and equipment, and placing orders as necessary.
  • Following health and safety procedures and ensuring compliance with laboratory regulations.
Requirements
  • A background in science, with knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
