Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the transition from a reactive to a planned preventative maintenance culture.
  • Deliver quality maintenance activities and standards to ensure assets and equipment are available to operate at the required level of performance.
  • Analyze failure modes to create preventative maintenance regimes.
  • Record accurate feedback on tasks completed, including spare parts used, time taken, and any changes required to the instruction.
  • Investigate breakdowns or critical defects, using fault-finding/diagnostic skills and provide leadership/support/technical guidance to carry out prompt reactive investigations.
  • Provide feedback on findings in an appropriate and professional manner, report writing, and leading problem-solving activities to identify root cause and prevent re-occurrence for issues that affect safety, operational reliability, services, or asset performance.
  • Work closely with the Line Manager to establish mean time between failure techniques and apply cost-effective mean time to repair methods to minimize production disruption and downtime impact.
  • Responsible for the delivery of robust reports/data integrity, from asset inspections and maintenance; to detail any identified defects that are unable to be rectified.
  • Contribute to any PPS reports associated with significant downtime.
Requirements:
  • Multi-skilled (preferably electrical bias) Technician/Engineer - HNC/HND Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Recognized H&S training and competence.
  • CNC machine maintenance experience is advantageous (Haas, Matsuura, Unisign, DMG Mori).
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills using common problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing CNC equipment and tooling with competence in fault diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC, inverters, and drives with competence in fault diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
  • Fault finding, diagnostic skills and ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action.
  • Demonstrable practical knowledge and experience of maintenance and machinery control systems required.
  • Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly.
  • Use of PCs and capability to use common applications and company systems.
  • Basic report writing skills.
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Develops a collaborative approach to meet multiple and potentially conflicting requests.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to prioritize, use own initiative, and organize work with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions positively.
  • Team worker and ability to work under own initiative.

  • It is essential that behaviors meet the expectation and standards of the Assets & Maintenance Improvement Manager and are of a professional, high standard and quality.
  • Must be confident and comfortable in leading activities and applying techniques to support the delivery of the maintenance schedule and the business need.
Desirable:
  • Experience in a similar factory/fabrication maintenance environment within a manufacturing maintenance background.
  • Experience in working in a modern lean manufacturing environment.
