Business Development Director (Interim) - Rail Sector Opportunity

CV-Library is working with a leading client seeking a Business Development Director (Interim) to drive growth and utilisation of their test facility in the rail industry.

As a Business Development Director (Interim), you will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to maximise the use of the client's test facility, covering areas such as rolling stock, connectivity, signalling, engineering products, and systems, as well as rail infrastructure and future technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain effective relationships with new and existing customers, innovators, and potential partners to leverage opportunities for testing their products/systems at the client's facility.
  2. Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's service offerings to identify business opportunities that will benefit the client and their customer base.
  3. Collaborate with the Engineering Teams to target projects and pipeline business that can be scheduled along with existing work to maximise the use and utilisation of the rail test facility and associated teams.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in managing clients during product development and launch activities, with a working knowledge of the rail sector.
  2. Ability to technically understand and capture requirements, making recommendations for future product development.
  3. Excellent project planning and timing skills with the ability to deliver against stringent timelines within an innovation environment.
  4. Strong commercial acumen to support the quotation and tendering process for new projects.
