Job Summary:

The Building Maintenance Supervisor will play a pivotal role in Irwin M&E Limited's ongoing growth and success. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and monitoring all building activities, ensuring that all works are carried out per client order, project schedule, design specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor all building activities to ensure compliance with client orders, project schedules, design specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with contractors, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of building works.
  • Facilitate communication between the project team and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Attend site meetings to report progress, discuss challenges, and suggest solutions.
  • Ensure that materials and equipment used in building installations meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents or incidents during mechanical installations.
  • Support the Projects Manager on various contracts and ensure that projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Procure materials, order materials, and deliver materials on time to ensure that projects are completed efficiently.
  • Supervise and manage labour allocation and resources to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with KPI targets and assist engineers with meeting all working hours and deadlines.
  • Work closely with other Site Supervisors and project managers to plan, schedule, and carry out work, including managing resources.
  • Manage a team of engineers and apprentices, including their job roles, holiday and absence management, and performance evaluations.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified in a building-related discipline.
  • Experience in surveying building systems.
  • Experience in supervising a small team.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial sectors.
  • IT literate, with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and show willingness to progress within the business.
  • Ability to demonstrate good team ethos.
  • Full driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience with measured term contracts (MTC rates).
  • Experience with specialized software packages.
