SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an alternative provision in Saltash. As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a student with an Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP), supporting them to access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 support to a student with an EHCP, adapting learning materials to their needs.
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver tailored interventions.
- Collaborate with specialists and on-site experts to implement strategies that support the student's development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor the student's progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist with managing challenging behaviour, using a patient and empathetic approach.
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs in an educational, care, or similarly transferable setting.
- Patient, caring, and empathetic, with a strong commitment to supporting students with SEN.
- Creative and adaptable in your approach to meeting individual needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with other professionals.
- Committed to making a positive impact on the student's educational journey and overall school experience.
