Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Site Leader to join our client in Farnborough, Hampshire. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for the overall operations of the manufacturing site, ensuring efficient production processes, high-quality products, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing site, including production planning, quality control, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Lead a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including production volumes, quality metrics, and safety records.
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and 6S, to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Recruit, train, and develop production staff, working closely with the HR team to ensure succession planning and talent development.
- Manage site maintenance, including scheduling and implementing maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
- Develop and implement business growth strategies, working closely with the management team to identify opportunities and drive results.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Site Leader, Operations Director, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive business results.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Engineering qualification preferred.
