Job Title: Electrical and Mechanical Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our team at TXM Recruit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical duties on trains, including disconnecting underframe equipment, dismantling and reassembling front ends, and carrying out electrical disconnections.

Key Responsibilities:

- Disconnecting underframe equipment, such as water tanks, exhausts, couplers
- Dismantling and reassembling front end of trains, body panelling and support frames etc
- Carrying electrical disconnections in preparation for welding activities
- Understanding engineering drawings and procedures
- Performing scheduled maintenance activities on the rolling stock in accordance with the vehicle maintenance instructions
- Actively participating in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for maintenance processes and maintenance procedures that support all depot and fleet activities
- Supporting the delivery of new trains and undertaking the maintenance acceptance processes

Requirements:

- Level 3 minimum
- Outstanding Safety Awareness gained in an operational railway engineering environments
- Modern fault finding and repair techniques using pc based laptops and remote train diagnostics
- Reading electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings reading
- Extensive experience of modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and associated reliability and available trend analysis

Electrical Duties:

- Wifi change out - includes fitting and drilling antennas, aerials, data cables and the wifi hub
- Carrying out work recording via both paperwork and computer (SAP)
- Fitting and re-fitting electrical components
- Uploading and downloading software data
- Electrical pinning and de-pinning
- Detailed electrical wiring
- Implementation of modifications IAW Mod instructions
- Checking the safe condition of passenger and train crew accommodation, for example lighting, heating etc.
- Checking Oil levels / Oil Change
- Checking Water levels
- Carry out basic Heating & Ventilation modifications
- Carry out basic seating modifications / Grab rail modifications
