Design Engineer for Water Infrastructure Projects

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about solving hydraulic problems and have a strong academic background in hydraulics and pipeline engineering. As a Graduate Engineer, you will work with our design teams to deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines and treatment facilities.
About the Role:
- You will be responsible for designing systems for drainage, sewage treatment plants, water supply, water treatment plants, reservoirs, and pump stations.
- You will gain a deep understanding of project and people management, including learning how to effectively manage and influence stakeholders.
- You will develop your ability to plan strategically with time, cost, and quality in mind, and learn what it takes to successfully design and deliver infrastructure projects across multidisciplinary teams and our supply chain.
What You Will Learn:
- Basics of Hydraulics for water works
- Modelling techniques, and tools to study our system
- Performing analysis and troubleshooting for hydraulic problems
- Get exposed to real-life operations and challenges coming from the hydraulics.
- Produce advanced studies related to basic hydraulics and advanced cases like Hydraulics-Control, Water hammer etc.
Requirements:
- A degree in IMechE or ICE accredited degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or a degree meeting IMechE's or ICE CEng accreditation, or similar.
- BEng graduates will be encouraged to register for IEng with a requirement for further learning to be undertaken for CEng registration; MEng graduates do not.
- A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
