The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the full commercial process, from cost estimation to final accounts. You will collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered within budget, while upholding quality and compliance standards.

  1. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and pricing documents for transmission and distribution projects.
  2. Manage procurement processes, including tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and subcontractor management.
  3. Track project expenditures and variations, maintaining accurate financial forecasts.
  4. Conduct site visits to verify work progress and ensure alignment with project specifications.
  5. Prepare and submit interim valuations, final accounts, and financial reports.
  6. Provide commercial advice and assist with contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
  7. Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on all financial matters.
  8. Identify risks and opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to mitigate financial impact.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant contracts, industry standards, and company policies.
  10. Proficiency in cost management software and Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
  11. Experience with high-voltage transmission and distribution projects is highly desirable.
  12. Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (RICS or similar accreditation preferred).
  13. Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines.
