About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at NHS Jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to individual needs and ensuring a warm, thoughtful, and sensitive approach.
  • Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and respect at all times, engaging with patients, relatives, and carers to seek their views and gain cooperation.
  • Assess patients through observation, listening, and feeling, reporting concerns about patient condition in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report patients' needs not included in the care plan, ensuring correct use, maintenance, and cleaning of pressure-relieving devices.
  • Provide patients with appropriate activities and stimulation to promote well-being and recovery, particularly when providing enhanced care.
  • Take samples from patients for testing or dispatching, and assist patients to meet nutritional needs in line with their individual care plan.
  • Communicate relevant information to Registered Nurses in a professional and timely manner, actively trying to resolve issues and complaints at a local level and reporting outcomes to line managers.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care and support principles.
