Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Join SuperCare Residential as a Residential Support Worker and make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. In this role, you will provide day-to-day care and support to our residents, helping them to become more independent and succeed in their education and personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
  • Working in partnership with young people, their social workers, and carers, as well as other relevant agencies.
  • Coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing Care Plans for allocated young people, preparing them for transition to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of the establishment, maintaining health and safety, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Administrative work and record-keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Supporting young people to take responsibility for their own lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning their lives, and helping them towards greater control and responsibility.
  • Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and reporting them effectively.
  • Attending to the day-to-day needs of the young people, including bathing, feeding, and cooking.
Household Responsibilities:
  • Sharing in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.
  • Caring for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Being accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.
  • Reporting repairs and ensuring necessary actions are taken.
Personal:
  • Acting as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Keeping abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
  • Making use of regular professional supervision.
  • Reporting to a line manager or other appropriate person, any malpractice or evidence suggesting it.
Additional Duties:
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
  • Working shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis as required.
  • Flexibility to work at other properties as directed by management.
Requirements:
  • Legally allowed to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 Diploma or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
  • Enhanced DBS Check, and on the update service.
  • Ability to drive with a full and clean license.
  • Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of the young people.
