Store Manager Designate

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager Designate to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As a Store Manager Designate, you will be responsible for leading a team of retail professionals to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take overall accountability for the store and team, ensuring high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
- Provide exceptional leadership to the team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
- Be a positive role model for the team, embodying the co-operative values and promoting a customer-centric approach.
- Lead the team to drive sales, membership growth, and community engagement, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement effective training and development programs to enhance team performance and capabilities.
- Be actively involved in social initiatives and volunteering hours to support the local community.
Requirements:
- Driving license and access to a vehicle or good public transport links.
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a food store setting.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to inspire teams through leading by example.
- Excellent customer focus, with a track record of delivering effective and efficient store experiences.
- Commercial and business acumen, with a strong understanding of retail operations and customer behavior.
- Natural ability to listen, interact, and communicate with customers and team members.
- Self-assured, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
