Job Summary

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced professional to join its Crisis Resolution Teams as a Leadership and Risk Management Specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled nurse, OT, or social worker to develop strong leadership and dynamic risk assessment & management skills in a fast-paced acute or community mental health setting.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Crisis Single Point of Access: Provide 24/7 telephone support, advice, and signposting for individuals in crisis, as well as triaging referrals and booking face-to-face crisis team assessments.
  2. Assessments: Conduct holistic assessments of individuals in crisis and develop collaborative treatment plans as an alternative to acute inpatient care or signposting to community or third sector services.
  3. Home Treatment Team: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality person-centred care, using CBT/DBT, de-escalation techniques, risk management, and brief supportive counselling skills to achieve shared treatment goals with the service user.

Requirements

  • RMN, OT, or social worker with experience in a senior capacity, managing others, and working with service users.
  • Knowledge of causes of mental illness, mental health law, assessment tools, risk assessment, and understanding of complex mental health needs and/or substance misuse.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a dynamic environment.
