Exciting Opportunity for a Communications and Engagement Professional

We are seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Officer to join our team at Thames Valley Police on a 1-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will provide effective communication between the Office of the OPCC, TVP Communities, and Partner Agencies by creating and implementing communications and engagement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communications and engagement strategies to promote the work of the OPCC and TVP Communities
  • Manage media relations and crisis communications
  • Organize and manage events, public engagement activities, and campaigns
  • Assess the effectiveness and value of public and stakeholder engagement practices and techniques
  • Provide senior management with advice on complex issues and information

Requirements:

  • Nationally recognized qualification or equivalent relevant experience in communications, public relations, or journalism
  • Experience of organizing and managing activities in a complex working environment
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and web development
  • Experience of working in digital and social media
  • Full UK driving license
